FIVE MORE DAYS!!!!

-jumps around like madman and does happy dance- Seminary is SO close. I can't wait...

I like it. -nods-

So uh, yeah. Youth activity. It was good, we swam in a creek-like-thing. And there were RAFTS! Wood ones that you can jump on and flip over. And a low bridge that three different people ran into! -thud- Shallow water it dangerous though. Lots of rocks... I like DEEP water. Where you can't touch the bottom. ^^ But that was good, too. I liked the rafts. He had little duel things where you tried to knock everybody off without pushing them. Woot!

Uh, what else... Oh yes, SEMINARY!!!!! Wait, I said that already. -paces in anticipation-

I'm late!

Hello!

I'm running late today. The activity last night was good. More later!

Goodbye!

Reinforcements. Helping Hand. Guardian Angel. Whatever you call it.

Brother M is very, very nice. ^^

Okay, from the top! Um, I've got about three hours before our ride to YM/YW, so I'll do this quickly.

Scouts last night was an improvement over it's predecessors. Good thing. Yes, the announcements went a little longer than I had hoped for so the boys were getting restless. Anyway, I decided it was a good idea to get them involved before someone fell asleep. The sign game! Took a little while to get going, but it worked out alright. Brother M really helped. He had played the game before and was good at explaining the rules and such. Then afterwards he went over some planning ideas for what the troop might do. -nods- The man is a genius. ^^

Yeah, I gotta eat my words now. I'm happy. Gotta hate it when you're wrong... Anywho, I'm not going to get lazy. I'm going to see if I can confirm my new patrol leaders tonight. Oh yes, we have an ASPL now! Two more people I can look to. (both of which in Sutter Ward) Very nice!

I just have to ask the patrol leaders, get in touch with Bro M, do regular schoolwork... Not so bad. But I should probably stop hanging around here all day. Um... Eat strawberries, they're super food! Some magazine or news thing said so. ^^

Towel (in satchel), notebook (has there been a time when I haven't had one with me?), phone, Japanese symbol notes, and –WHAT THE HECK??? Um... It seems my brother has stepped on another bee... The one that starts with an A. Yeah, mom said I should remain anonymous when I write. -nods-

Uh, I'm going to go see what's up with A. He made a very funny yell (not really funny) and ran inside. Now Joe is doing something to his foot. Remember everyone. Shoes are important. Yep... uh, I gotta go... -scurries off-

Show time...

I don't write like that. Either it's negative or positive. Rarely can it be seen as both. It isn't interest that's the problem. It's capability and fulfilling the duties that come with the good. They'll do campouts, they'll do activities, but they don't listen or participate in meetings. It all comes down to one thing. Discipline. I had it when I was younger. I learned that work needs doing. They, it seems, did not. And there are a precious few ways I can teach them that. We aren't allowed to discipline, we aren't allowed to suspend or anything like that. At least, I can't. We'll just see if we can get one thing into their heads tonight. I have a small idea for instruction. As for the activity, I'm going to try a little less moving. We must have ORDER.

And by the way, if leaders are supposed to make others capable, why haven't any of the three SPLs that have served with a certain boy been able to make him "capable." You'd think a year or so would have done the trick.

So, um... We had smores last night. It's surprising how well grills work for that... So that was... nice.

One. More. Week. One. More. Week. Plus, after tonight, I might get a small break from this evil chaos. Then I have to write a talk... Life isn't fair sometimes... -sighs-

So yeah, I gotta go.

Monday, August 27, 2007

Oh yes, I forgot about that one...

There are four. One written in the English alphabet, like this, then two for writing plain syllables, then the last one for words. (one symbol for each word) Yeah, it's great.

Yeah, Friday and Saturday were Youth Conference. Very fun. I almost forgot howw stressful my life was. But then... POW! Hello life, you've got to decide the fate of the troop. Assigning positions, planning activities, "Delegating?" hmm, to who? Everyone that I'd trust are no doubt getting tired of it. I know I darn well am. I feel like I could knock the living daylights out of some of those boys. Zero discipline whatsoever. I have determined that I can trust NO ONE with some things. Such as bugler. Once again, Logan is the only one likely to be suitable for that. No one has any liking to getting up on time. Scribe? Librarian? Courter master? All those jobs and I've got two or three boys I can count on. There is absolutely no way I'm leaving some of these people as what they are. Except in the case of L, I think he's fine where he is as Den Chief. The man has some crazy power that he is not overwhelmed by annoyance. D I suppose could be librarian, for lack of any better ideas. bugler may be terminated as there are a shortage of boys, otherwise, double tasking. Wonderful. I. Need. A Patrol Leader's. Council. The SPL and Scoutmaster can do the patrol leaders, sure, but the WHOLE troop? Especially as the Scoutmaster has not given any viewpoint on the subject as of yet. It /sickens/ me. Hey, mother, can I move to Alaska? Please? If only for a few years. I do not enjoy my life. I'm beginning to wonder if I ever will again. Week after week. I'm tired of it. Seminary seems ages away. I need joy. There is supposed to be something happening from all of this. Some growing experience, but I feel nothing. I feel more like I'm sinking than anything else. How is someone supposed to grow while being drowned?

I'm sorry to inform you all that you'd do well to find another uplifting, cheerful blog to read, because I doubt I'll be able to play that role for quite some time.

What the heck it wrong with this text???

All day the computer has been changing what the text looks like. Not just for this, for Gmail, neopets, everything! So yeah, don't expect Hubert to be able to do anything. He's kind of working blind at the moment. The book? Maybe, but copyright would be murder. I think I'd rather be a writer than a internet smilies specialist. This font is huge and ugly. -grimaces- I'm getting distracted just looking at what I'm writing. It's terrible. I miss the old stuff. It was much better. So yeah, I had the responsi- I mean honor of going to Scout Committee Meeting last night. (committee has a lot of double letters. XD) It was good, I didn't know what I was supposed to do.

Yeah, Japan is one of the fastest growing business countries in the world so I figured it's a good idea to get in there. You know, at least know what they're saying. I never really trust translators. I've seen too many shows where wars have started because a translator lied during negotiations. The language doesn't seem all that horrible once you look passed the symbols. And I like how You write things how they sound. I think Tom would love it. Just the three different writing languages makes me nervous. Not so bad once you learn what the symbols are, but still scary.

So yeah, as always, I have to go now. Bye!

Konnichi wa, Jake Renolds desu!

He he he, that book is crazy. So, how is everybody? Yes, I'm upset that blogger always seems to ruin my pictures, the sand castle did look better when I was making it. But I was rushed and it was beyond repair anyway. Hubert made a new one though.

Okay, moving on. Last night's scouts activity went okay. Only one injury and the scouts were keeping active. Yeah. Not the worst.

Anyway, so that's my life. I've said this already, but I'm taking Japanese. Tricksy stuff those symbols. Very interesting. So yeah, I have to get back to work. It seems that as my life gets busier, the less time I have to write about it... Bye, everyone!

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

That seems kinda impossible

Either you're taxing yourself doing the very best you can, you aren't doing your best, are you? Besides, I like the impenetrable working mind set that gives you a headache, but gets the work done. It's... There.

Hubert: -bows-

Back to me: Yeah, he's not here right now, so he's sending text messages every now and then. He's at the beach!

Anyway, now that we're done with the picture messages, let's get back to the asylum.

So yeah, I should go soon. I'm like, you know, a busy guy. Gotta get the frizbee ready, look for more ideas, try to figure out what alphabet Asian people use, and probably take a shower. -sniffs- Yes, shower first.

Bye!

Education...

Not all fun and games. -grumbles- Anywho, school started today. Yeah. Goodie. I'm leaping for joy at the very thought of doing this again. Literature was okay, I told you guys about my system, right? Do a weeks worth of a subject a day? Then do another subject the next? Yeah, except for Algebra, Japanese, and PE, but those aren't painfully long. So, Duty to God, Scoutwork, SPL duties (believe me, it's different), schoolwork, church callings, regular chores around the house, a few other odd jobs that need sorting out... I think I'm starting to see why young people are starting smoking and drinking. It's still stupid, but I see their reasons.

We gonna play frizbee! Sort of an odd variation of keepaway-ish with two teams. Yeah, that's be fun. So, other than that, I'm sure there'll be some more stuff to work out. I. Begin. To hate. This. Not SPL so much anymore, but I've found other ways of stirring up unhappy feelings it seems. Bah. -stares at list of jobs- Where to start...? School. Then planning. Chores, I suppose. I dunno, I don't like it. I guess I should write something witty or entertaining like I know you all need and expect from my blog. Hey, Hubert, any ideas?

.O -shrugs-

Didn't think so. Maybe the monkeys...

No. Not the monkeys.

Okay, you guys are going to be ripped off again. Blame it on the troop.

Mom, when a gun is lacking ammunition, does the trigger do any good? I miss seminary! -sighs- I feel depressed again. Strawberries aren't the same without seminary...

Don't drown my troubles? Why not, isn't that what I'm supposed to do?

}O This is Hubert's fish. It came to say hi.

Do I know what do write about?

Scouts was... Decent yesterday. Not exactly the greatest, but better. I have to figure out what we'll be doing for the months and months and MONTHS ahead. So um, mom, do we know where those books are? Anyway, so yesterday we went swimming, Andrew and I rode our bikes there. Woot! We swam, went over some First Class requirements for the younger boys. So yeah, it was good.

Um... I think that's it.

Swimming

Yay, let's go swimming! Bleh. Darn scouts. Why is it so horrible to have a NON-boy-run troop???
Let's see, the phone tree still has some rough patches, but hopefully it'll work... maybe. I have to remind everyone that the troop is meeting at Tahoe Park to go swimming. A bunch of teenage boys going swimming... Discipline? Difficult. I'd be much happier if I was able to put some fear into those rowdy, irritating, little twerps, but of course, WE CAN'T. I bet the law is against it, and the church most definitely is. All I'm thinking is Woof. Not snap or bugger, this isn't one of those times. This is woof. Heaven forbid I get some mid level job. It's either so lame I'm bored at the thought of it, or it's so crazy I never get anything done. I am not a leader. I do not want to be the leader they want. I work by discipline, they do not. Both self and otherwise. If a troop cannot stop talking for five minutes, what iota of a hope do they have of accomplishing anything? Do they care about this? Why, no. No they don't. Never have, never will.

So that's life. Swell, no? I'm still waiting for the: "Pleasant satisfaction of seeing how your troop has progressed." Maybe that's for normal troops where they actually have red slips or green slips or whatever it was that warns people that if they keep acting up, they're out. As it is, our troop is apparently too minuscule to want to lose any scouts, no matter how much dead weight they are. Well, let me just say, our troop was ten times better when it was smaller.

Is all of the rant out? -goes to check- For the moment, it looks like it. So you get the idea of how I feel about this leadership thing. Oh well, at least there are a few boys to be counted on in this mess of a troop. -sighs- I feel depressed.

Hey, you're the one reading depressing stories, not me

You're just jealous you don't live in an asylum. And... write random things. And yes, my odd is vastly differing from the people that for some reason keep reading this. Personally, I think they must be quite brave. You're odd is just this desire to engulf yourself in sad stuff. Do you want to know the kid dies or that the arsonist doesn't get caught in this part. Or what about the reporter losing his job because he was wasting too much time on trying to figure out about the fire? Just light reading? No, depressing and pointless to continue.

Okay, so if we're going swimming as a troop, and I have no idea what we're doing when we get there, what else is to be assumed but that we're doomed to boredom again? Or a large game of Marko Polo.

Oh yeah, the fireside last night was nice. Brother and Sister Swenson (that's how they spell it, right?) talked about when they were living in Taiwan. It was good.

So yeah, I'm going to go now. Bye!

Friday, August 10, 2007

You people are odd...

Why would anyone in their right minds want to hear a depressing story like that? But I don't like it. I don't write mysteries.

Anyway, we're off the subject now. Yat! I finally got all the gold ores! I like being random. I also like rocks. They're fun to hit with a pickax. ^^

I don't feel like writing. Sad, isn't it? Maybe I'm hungry... Am I hungry? I just ate an hour and a half ago... Of course it was cereal... I dunno... Maybe I'm just bored. I get bored sometimes. Especially when I don't know what to write. No. Not the story. That was a pick-me-up that was not meant to be continued.

Um...I could just stop here. Oh yeah, it's Smores Day... Yay!

Gotta be something... Okay, I give up. Bye!

Wednesday, August 8, 2007

-looks at notes for story-

Too depressing. I think I'd like a story about dragons better. *looks at school being burnt down by dragon* Too much like king kong... I give up. I don't like it.

SPL thing. Not fun, but not deadly. Survived, for the most part, the first day. Now, for the next scout meeting... *whimpers*

I don't know what to write about. Except on Runescape, they improved a bit of the chat box thing so you could set up Clan Chats. Nice. Convenient. You talk to any of them without being disturbed by anyone else. Well, you can, but you don't have to. And only you guys can hear it so everyone else doesn't get annoyed. ^^ I like it.

Um, I'm not sure if I have anything else at the moment, I'm still trying to remember what I forgot.... BYE!

Bleh

I'll be sure to mention the lack of communication this evening. Hmm, what to do? I could go into the hyperactive phase or the "If you don't care, why should I?" phase... I like the sound of the second one. It'd be reasonable. I'm not a one man army, nor the information hub of the world, so what am I supposed to do about it? Nobody else seems to care about the situation.

And once again, this topic has dwarfed my longing to type. Surprising? Hmph.

I should anyway, though. Maybe a short story with a good amount of death in it. It'd probably cheer me up. Maybe.

A wisp of smoke rose from the wreckage, fire resistance vehicles still out on the scene. None knew what had caused the sudden fire, but there was little remaining of the once cheery school. Thankfully, none were killed in the blaze, but there were some injuries...
A young paper reporter paused at the scene, his gaze locked on the gray remains of the school he himself had once attended. It didn't seem natural for him. What could have done this? The fire had only been active for a few moments before the whole building was in flames. And, unfortunately the response men were too late to save anything from the middle school. They still searched, however, half dreading what they might find.
A slight movement caught the eye of the reporter and he turned to see a boy staring at the ashes that seemed to dominate the scene. "What's going to happen now?" He asked in a quiet voice, looking slowly at the reporter.
"I don't know." He replied, knowing that it wasn't enough. "With luck, rebuild. But there will be meetings on that decision later, now you should go back to your family and try not to think about what happened here."
The boy was old enough to understand most of this and nodded slowly, taking a last look at the ghostlike building that seemed to hang over them. Slowly, he pulled himself away from the sight, turning toward home and leaving the reporter, once again, alone, save only for the groups of men and women attempting to discover the mysteries the school now held...

Hmm... Maybe not a short story, I have to go. I'll see about finishing this later.

SPL does not stand for Simple Planning Leasure

Or anything by those lines. Yeah, okay, before I get into that, let's take a look at the comments.

Relax, mom, the ToT is great! Way better than the other drop ride. That's the only ride there with puke guards. The Sun Wheel only had bags.

Yep, it's a mouse head. You can hardly tell when your on it, though. Everything is going by too fast.

Yeah, Turtle Talk was fun. Especially when there's a little kid that can speak dolphin. Crush seemed impressed. ^^

Okay, did I miss anything? Correction. How much did I miss? Good.

So yeah, I don't think I like the leadership responsibility. Although it would help if people picked up their darn phones! I called Bro. Pena ten times over a twenty-four hour time frame and he STILL didn't answer. Wasn't at church, didn't reply to my voice mail. "You can always contact me if you have any questions." You wanna say that again? Oi! And I'm supposed to have something planned tomorrow? Permission slips? It'd help if I knew what the heck we were doing in the first place! I don't even know the name of the sticking campsite. I have gotten a hold of Riley and he said he'd be okay with going over some packing info. Still, What's the swimming set up? What's the camping background? Should the SPL know? Of course not! He should just conjure up some answer that will solve everything with no idea what's happening at all. I dislike my job.

And now I don't even feel like writing. At least, nothing anyone should ever want to hear.

I'm going now. *stomps off*

Rating and comments...

Okay, here are the results...

Shows:
-Fantasmic****
It was good, the only thing is that we were in the wrong spot. There was a tree blocking part of it, you see. Anyway, I liked it though. Especially the fire. They burned the lake. ^^
-Electric parade (held after dark, lights on floats) ***
Decent. I was half asleep when we saw it though...
-Aladin*****
Quite excellent. Indoors air conditioning and a good performance. They made genie into a kind of... modern person. I don't know how to explain it.
-It's tough to be a bug****
Very good, not the show for people who need personal space. Or that don't like smelly gases coming towards you. You get stabbed in the back, have things crawl under your seat, while your in it, get sprayed with acid, and get hit by a stink bug. All in all, AWESOME.
-Muppets 3D****
Very good, 3D with chair affects. (no smell clouds though) Yeah, it was good.
-Honey I shrunk the audience***
It was okay, we almost got eaten by a snake.
-Disneyland: First 50 magical years****
Donald Duck and... What's his name... He was the guy from Cheaper by the Dozen." Anyway, they were battling over who was hosting the movie. Yeah, it was good. A little background of how it all got started, what changed and what not. It was good.
-Micky mouse cartoons***
Nice walk in room with a bunch of screens with cartoons on them. Also the last thing we saw before leaving.
-Parades (there was a good number of them)***
Nice, numerous, we never stayed around much while they were going by, but they were nice to look at. (shorter lines for rides *grin*)
-Innoventions**
I guess it was okay, I didn't like Tom Morrow that much. He's a robot, mayor of Tomorrowland I think. He calls it, "Meland." Yeah, not my favorite. The inside was nice. Lots of stuff to do.
-Disney Animation
-Turtle talk with Crush (I guess it was a show)*****
Off the chart AWESOME! It was definitely one of my favorite attractions there. Crush looked REAL. Complete with complete view and hearing of the room we were in. He knew what we said, he had expressions. It. Was. AMAZING
-Character close-up***
Good, a walk in room with original and modern sketches of characters.
-Sorcerer's workshop****
Very nice, Create animations, do voice-over for Disney scenes. lots of fun stuff.
-Disneyland Railroad (was it a ride? I'll put it under both...)***?
We were tired. I fell asleep once when it was going, so I'm not sure what all happened. Nice peaceful ride around the park close to midnight? I was just asking for it.
-Golden Dreams****
Nice show, great for watching during the day. (more air conditioning)
-Thunder Ranch**
In short, a petting zoo. The donkey seemed a little upset. I think that may have affected my view towards it. The cow was interesting. It moved it's ear on cue. *nods* I'm not sure how they found that out, though...
-Enchanted tiki room (not the enchanted trash can, lol)****
He he, very nice little singing room with birds. (Genie called Iago a Tikibird reject ^^) The extension above was from a staff member.

Rides:
-Splash Mountain*****
Excellent way to cool off!
-Thunder Mountain*****
Fun, fast. Perfect warm up for the bigger rides. And there's a little water so you can get wet! (you have to want to though, lean to the side)
-Space Mountain*****
Crazy awesomeness. *nods* Roller coaster in the dark!
-Buzz Lightyear*****
Arcade/ride Perfecto! My score went down every time I went on it... =( I'll have to show you pictures. ^^^ (LGM. lol)
-Pinocchio*
Um... Yeah
-California Screaming*****
UPSIDE DOWN! Much better without those motion sickness pills. And don't you close those eyes! Except to blink every now and then. It dries out your eyes and mouth. Fast, fun, great.
-Soaring*****
Nice views of California. plus, cool glider motions. We're flying.
-Tower of Terror*****
The. Coolest. Ride. EVER. Maybe... A few come close. You leave your seat on the freefalls! Thank you seat belts! I LOVED IT. We went on it alot while we were there.
-Car Trip Thing**
Okay, but it's a little jolty. Unlike other rides. It's not as fun, and it hurts. Especially for people with long legs...
-Orange Stinger**
I almost got sick. I kept looking at spinning objects...
-Sun wheel**
Again. Almost got sick. And it was a very long "15 minutes" in the sun.
-Matterhorn*****
Fun! Better when your seat belt works!
-Grizzly River Run*****
Water! Wonderful cooling water!
-Jungle Cruise****
Ah, such a relaxing boat ride
-Indiana Jones****
Bumpy, but not painful. *nods* I liked it.
-Pirates of the Caribbean****
A little water. Fun ride, lots of pirates.
-Haunted Mansion***
One of those scene kind of rides. I have a ghost or two that are supposed to be haunting me now. *shrugs* I've had worse.
-Disneyland Railroad***
My opinion hasn't changed, I can't remember much about it.
-It's a Small World*****
Bigger than I thought. The icon of Disneyland. We HAD to go in it. It was nice. We kept splashing each other. I'm not sure we were supposed to...
-Monsters Inc.***
Decent, another story ride.
-Canoes****
We actually got to paddle. I got wet though. I guess it was a good thing. The water was green though...
-Star Tours****
Very fun, do not take a tour of Endor with a newly programmed droid. you may end up trying not to die while rebels attack the Death Star...

Over all, our top ten are, in order of awesomeness:
-Turtle Talk with Crush
-Tower of Terror
-California Screaming
-Space Mountain
-Splash Mountain
-Grizzly River Run
-Buzz Lightyear
-Soarin'
-Aladin
-Matterhorn (Best at night, and with a seat belt)

And of Course, the fireworks were also good. ^^

I'll get them back for this...

It appears leaving town is dangerous. The moment you're gone, your friends will gang up on you and force hours of work on your back... You are listening to the new SPL of troop 40. Yay. And when do they decide to tell me? The night before scouts which I was supposed to have something planned for. Yeah, fun. Thankfully, Logan was there to save me and we ended up joining the young women at Mercy Mcmann (sp?). Plus, no active phone tree. Wonderful. Contact all troop without a plan and with only a few hours to organize? Piece of cake.

Oi. Not happy. So if any of you have brilliant ideas for what to do with a troop full of rowdy boys, let me know.

Back to the past.

HP7 has nothing to do with this! (although it is pretty good... ^^)

I like reading. xP

And yes, it was quite unexpected. We had both mentioned we would be out of town, but neither o us had any idea we were going through the same airport. Still, a pleasant surprise to start the week.

Day 3 - Tuesday:

Of course, I had the same thing for breakfast hat I did before, french toast. It was good.

First things first! Fast pass for Space Mountain, then it's off to California adventure! Fast pass for Soaring, then we wait in line for he Grizzly River Run (Grr). Refreshing cool water! Very nice. Then let's see... I don't remember this as well... We went on a little car ride trip, I can' remember what it was called. Then there was the orange bee-hive thing. Then California Screaming! Awesome, guys, awesome. *nods* Uh... Then I think we did Soaring, which was AMAZING. Not a fast roller coaster, but equally entertaining. We can fly! The bee hive and the car thing were okay, the car was a sort of mini roller coaster, while the orange was a little spiny thing that makes you go around in circles. I almost got sick. You shouldn't look at the spinning walls... After that... I know there was more. Maybe I'll just do what rides we went on during the week, not just day to day... I'll do that. But maybe tomorrow, I have to remember what all of them were. I'll have a list of rides and shows we saw and do a brief summary. *runs off to start making notes*
